Baseball Bat Attack In VA Commuter Lot Leaves Car Damaged, Woman Wounded: Police

A 23-year-old man was being held without bond after beating a woman and her car with a baseball bat in Prince William County, authorities said.

Johnny Albert Smith III carried out the attack in the Dale City Commuter Lot, police said.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. in the Dale City commuter lot on Gemini Way in Woodbridge.

Johnny Albert Smith III was charged with malicious wounding, felony destruction of property, and assault and battery. Police say he was arguing with the woman when things escalated.

At one point during the encounter, another acquaintance attempted to intervene, but Smith pushed her away, police said. The victim reported minor injuries and was treated at the scene by fire and rescue personnel.

No additional injuries or property damage were reported.
